The values of the Israel Police
Israel Police acts in order to enforce the law, to maintain public order, to protect life and property, while respecting fundamental human rights. The service of the Israel Police is based upon recognition of the national mission we fulfill, while identifying with the values of the State of Israel as encompassed in Israel’s declaration of independence. The Israel Police's values are the moral compass, which directs the behavior of all police personnel.
And these are the values, in accordance with which shall act policemen in the Israel Police:
Respecting the law and enforcing it.
Will act to enforce the law in accordance with authorities and regulations, while respecting the law, and maintaining proportionality, fairness, and restraint in the use of force.
Respecting the individual and his rights
Will act in order to protect human rights without bias or discrimination, and with tolerance of others.
Protecting human life
Will protect human life with determination, courage, and wisdom.
Purity of values and personal example
Will maintain purity of values and honesty. Will act according to the rules of discipline. Will speak the truth, will report fully and accurately and will serve as a personal example in his behavior at all times.
Being Official
Will act officially, without adopting a personal opinion, as a representative of the Israel Police, while respecting the values of democracy.
Public service
Will see himself as a public servant in providing egalitarian and tolerant service, to reinforce the public trust in the Police.
Professionalism and responsibility
Will act professionally, while acting with discretion and initiative, with openness to different opinions, and will be responsible for the consequences of his actions.
Solidarity and unity
Will fulfill tasks with organizational identification, solidarity and partnership, and will preserve the Israel Police's values and legacy.
Leadership
Will act out of moral and educational leadership, based upon Excellency and the commitment to the needs of the individual and community.
